What EXACTLY is Copyrighted By Summit Entertainment?

I understand that anything to do with the movies and actors is copyrighted. But what about the character and book names? And, if copyrighted, which copyright does it violate? Does anyone know of a document(s) out there that clearly defines what is copyrighted under Stephenie Meyer and what is copyrighted under Summit Entertainment?

Are meta tags copyrighted?
What about link names on a web site? For ex: The Edward Bracelet...
What about book names in the product name: Breaking Dawn Bookmark or Jacob Bracelet?

  1. I have to agree. It clearly appears to me that there has been an abuse of power. After all, Summit simply BORROWED an idea and has now made millions off of the very fans and followers that they are now screwing over. Without Stephenie Meyer there would have been no 65 Million Dollar Revenue for Summit. I wonder if Stephenie Meyer is aware of what Summit is doing? Inspired By Twilight was like many small businesses created out of love for a book series that captivated all of us. It is from this that we drew our inspiration. The fact that Summit could shut down our entire website seems to be violating our constitutional rights for our freedom of expression. Although there were items that seemed to follow under the copyright law, we complied completely to their requests of removing them; however, how could they become the enforcer and demand money for items clearly not under any copyright infringement and have the power to shut our entire business down? This was a mom-and- pop, so to speak, business not for profit but for pure enjoyment and common interests that brought us moms together and bonded us in friendship. We have the right to make our own interpretations of what we read or watch and express them in any forum we choose. It was never any intention on our part, as I am certain this is the case with many of our fellow Twilight Vendors, to break any laws. It was about being part of something, sharing our talents, loyalty to The Twilight Saga and providing quality merchandise to the fans. It has been obvious this is not the values in which Summit operates and simply has been sucked in by the almighty dollar. I will always be a fan of Stephanie Meyer as she brought us the best love triangle, and story of life and it's possibilities. I have read the books over and over again and will continue to do so. I will no longer be a follower of Summit. And Yes, I am one in millions of people knowing that my stand against Summit will be of no consequence to their empire but our business and the values in which we created it is more important to my conscience and these values are something Summit will always fall short of.

I hope you and others can keep your fan sites and your fan-made Twilight Inspired business... I for one Love them!!!!
